Becoming a Workplace Rehabilitation Consultant
In order to provide vocational rehabilitation services WorkCoverSA have specified minimum qualifications/ criteria in order to obtain approval as a provider. Once approved, a provider number is issued allowing the consultant to commence provision of services.
In order to process an application for a provider number, WorkCoverSA require evidence of both the membership status and an approved tertiary qualification enabling:
- Full or Associate membership of the Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC)
- Full membership of Rehabilitation Counsellors Association of Australia (RCAA)
- Registration with the Occupational Therapist Board of SA
- Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of SA
- Registration with Australian Association of Exercise and Sports Scientists (AAESS)
- Registration with the Psychological Board (SA)
- Full membership of Speech Pathology Australia
- Full membership of Australian Association of Social Workers
- Registration with the Medical Board of SA
- Registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board SA
An applicant who has previously been registered with WorkCoverSA under the March 2008 agreement may also be eligible for approval of a provider number. A new provider number must be issued and used upon commencing employment with Beckmann and Associates.
